Does the worth or depreciation of a guitar go down if it has a musician signature on it?
I recently won a Vintage Sunburst Acoustic Epiphone guitar and it was signed by Money Mark( producer/mixer of many different and upcoming bands). I was wondering if the price or worth of the guitar will go down because of the signature. Side note: The signature takes up about a quarter of the bottom of the guitar.
The guitar itself has a value and the signature on it makes it a collectible. That brings another group of people into the buying pool.
If he becomes very popular then the value goes up. If he becomes very unpopular then the value goes down. It would be rare that removing a signature would make the guitar more valuable. I would not do that at all.
